INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
First, you must download the installation program. Click on the following link and click and click on OPEN.
If you have a dial-up service, this file will take a while to download. Please be patient.
If you clicked on OPEN, the installation program will now automatically begin. If you clicked on save, you will have to find where you saved the file and double-click on it to start installing.
The following screen appears:
Click on NEXT
The following screen appears:
Click on NEXT
Finally, the last screen appears:
Lastly, click on FINISH.
You have now finished the setup of the instant messaging program.
Next, you
need to configure the program with your settings.
After you click on FINISH, the following screen will appear:
The account name and password are what we setup with you prior. Enter them in
the appropriate locations.
NOTE: For security reasons, anything you type in the
password text box will be masked by either asterisks or by bullets. Just type
your password carefully, and you should have no problem.
Also, check the Automatically log on check box. This will save your logon information so you do not have to enter it every time you logon.
Example:
(NOTE: Where it says assingedname, you will have your username)
When your screen looks similar to the one pictured above, click on OK.
The following screen appears:
Your last step is to add the Line Update contact.
Click on Action >> New contact...
The next screen appears:
In the contact address field, type in EXACTLY the following: lineupdate@web3.triver.com

When your screen looks like this, click on NEXT.
The following screen appears:
Simply click on FINISH.
Your screen looks something like this:
You are finished!
Now just wait for the changes to come in. When a change is made, a separate conversation window will popup with the changes listed.
The changes will come listed in a linear pattern, making it easy to write them in your schedule
Remember, this is a instant line update service ONLY. We will NOT respond to any questions broadcasted to us via the Instant Messaging System. If you have a question or a concern, please call the office.
Helpful hints:
One of the best features of this service is that you will never miss a line change, even if your computer is turned off. Changes stay on our server until you are logged on. This means you will probably see this screen quite often:
Simply click on YES to view the information you missed.
Also, if you accidentally close the program, is is probably
just sitting in your system tray. Look for a symbol like 
or 
.
Just click on either one to bring up the program. If you cannot find this symbol
in your system tray, you must start the program again. Look in your start menu
for Ipswitch IM. Or, you can simply restart your computer and this will probably
accomplish the same thing.
To turn on the timestamp functionality:
In the client program, click on View >> Options...
In the General category (on the left hand side), select the checkbox
next to:
Show Date/Time stamp in conversations
Changing your password:
You can change your password if you wish.
NOTE: If you change it, we CANNOT tell you what you changed it to so
please write it down.
In the IM Client program, click on View >> Options...
Within the Logon category, click on the Change Password button.
