MLB (961) WASHINGTON NATIONALS VS (962) COLORADO ROCKIES
Reason: Your FREE Play for Tuesday, July 22, 2014 is in the National League contest between the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies. Washington has been playing great baseball the last two weeks and heads out to Colorado, a great offensive park. In fact, it's no surprise that Coors Field is once again one of the top hitters parks in baseball. It helps to have a strong starter in this park and Washington does in Ryan Zimmerman (3.03 ERA). The team is 3-1 his last four starts. He has walked just 20 in 113 innings with 101 Ks. The Rocks look to start little known Yohan Flande. Flande has pitched in only three games this season, making a spot start here and there. He's 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA and 1.705 WHIP, not good numbers to be bringing into a hitter's park like Coors Field. Would love to play Washington here, but the Nats are laying 1.65 on the road and that might go up by game time. Washington has been a good over bet of late, going 7-3 O/U in their last 10 road games and 6-2 in Zimmerman's last eight overall starts. We have to fade an 11 total here, but that's for good reason as Flande will likely get lit up. Might be a good spot for Washington and OVER, but my FREE play here for a straight play will be on the OVER.
