It’s a shame, the Yankees and their 200 million dollar payroll won’t make the playoffs. And do you think MLB want the Mets to hang on just for the TV ratings? Most Likely. Is it a shock that Tampa Bay made the playoffs. Yes, but it all started in spring trainning and an attitude. More teams need to play with heart day after day like the Rays. Did we mention Bud killed the Astros playoff hopes? He really didn’t, but we like to say he did because everyone else is. Could we see an all Chicago World Series? We could, but probably won’t. As a matter of fact, with six games remainning, we wouldn’t be surprised if the White Sox blow it. And Ozzie won’t get fired. Wouldn’t it be great to see Many and the Dodgers play Boston in the World Series? Honestly, not really. In a season with a possibility of an all Chicago or all LA World Series, we feel it will be one team from Chicago (Cubs) and one team from LA (Angels)– that’s our prediction for the World Series.
One last question, Isn’t this a great time of year?

A couple of quick notes. For the true sports fan, this is the best time of the year. Yes, the excitement of a new football season is upon us. That in itself is great. Every sport fan has hope this will be “The Season”. That feeling last about four weeks. Then the pretenders fall from grace and the only shot of “their team” making the Super Bowl is for their fantasy football team. Anyway, aside from football, the pennant run in baseball is incredible. Say what you will about BUD Selig, but, the one good thing he has brought to the sport, is the wildcard. It gives added hope for Brewer fans. It allows Tampa Bay and Boston BOTH to make the playoffs. Speaking of the Brewers, Milwaukee needed to fire Ned Yost. Why have another Willie Randoff situation? THEN say Yost should’ve been fired. This at least still gives them a chance now. Bud Selig, like we said, say what you will about him, and we will. But c’mon BUD there’s no way Houston should’ve played in Milwaukee… the Cubs home away from home. That’s just not right. The LA Dodgers would not be where they are right now without Manny. Manny is just being Manny right now. He’s having fun… the way baseball should be. However, there’s a honeymoon period in everything we do, this will be no different next season when he signs long term for any team. Manny should get MVP votes, but probably won’t because he is Many Rameirez after all. So who will get the National league MVP? Howard, Braun, Utley, Wright, Delgado, Holliday? More importantly, who will win the World Series? Most likely it won’t be the Cubs. We’ll leave it at that and just remind everyone, this is a great time of year. DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE BASEBALL!
OK, OK, everyone knows how good we are when it comes to handicapping (Especially when it comes to the football). Between our regular locks and our High Roller Total, our clients made millions last year. And that’s not an exaggeration. However, something that hasn’t been made public is how good we are with our fantasy football. We’ve won three of our last four fantasy football leagues. So as far as our scouting, ranking, and strategy we’d say we know what we’re doing. We’d like to share some of those tips to winning fantasy football.
A couple of rules we follow: The number one rule we follow, hands down the most important rule– take a running back in the first two rounds of the draft. Period! Even if you have a chance to take a Tom Brady or Payton Manning with the fifth or sixth pick overall, it’s not worth it. In the long run, you’ll score more fantasy points with a two stud RB’s and a Romo, Brees, Palmer, (A third or fourth round pick). Than a Brady/Manning, stud RB and a starting RB splitting time. Remember, a great QB will single handily win weeks, running backs will win fantasy titles.
