With BYU’s loss on Thursday night, there are now 9 undefeated teams remaining. I do not believe there will be any teams unblemished prior to the start of the bowl games. We will have numerous teams with 1 loss at the end of the regular season and conference title games. Here’s a look at the teams who have yet to lose, and the landmines remaining on their respective schedules.

Texas- vs Missouri, vs Okla St, @ T Tech, @ Kansas

Penn State- @ Ohio State

Alabama- @ LSU

Oklahoma State- @ Texas, @ T Tech, vs Oklahoma

Texas Tech- @ Kansas, vs Texas, vs Okla St, vs Okla

Boise State- @ Nevada

Utah- vs TCU, vs BYU

Tulsa- vs UCF

Ball State- @ C Mich, vs W Mich

This week’s action:

Missouri @ Texas- Tigers humbled last week, but Pinkel’s team will definitely show up in Austin…Tigers held under 42 points last week for first time all season…Horn’s can light it up too…have scored at least 38 in all 6 outings…have scored in every quarter but 1…have scored double digits in 17 of 24 quarters played…McCoy 79% completions, Daniel 76%

Kansas @ Oklahoma- haven’t played since ‘05…MLB Ryan Reynolds a HUGE loss for Sooners D…Oklahoma has outscored opponents 110-10 in 1st quarter this year…Stoops team has scored 20+ points in a quarter six times…Bradford and Reesing have combined for 38 TD passes, only 8 INT’s

Ohio State @ Michigan State- Spartans Javon Ringer leads nation in yards and touchdowns, but has had heavy workload with at least 34 carries in 5 of 7 games…Mich St playing 8th consecutiove week without break…Sparty hung tough in Columbus last year, losing  24-17, but were out-rushed 229-59

Western Michigan @ Central Michigan- Big Time battle in MAC West…Broncos only loss was Aug 30 @ Nebraska…Jr QB Tim Hiller 68% completions, 23 TD’s 5 INT’s…Chippewas two losses @ Georgia & @ Purdue…C-Mich won in Kalamazoo last year 34-31…W-Mich has dropped 3 of last 4 meetings

NFL Week 7

San Diego @ Buffalo- Chargers traveling 3000 miles to play Bills, then travel to London for game against Saints next Sunday…WR Chambers expected to start…Tomlinson, Gates & Sproles all nursing toe, ankle, knee injuries…Edwards at helm for Bills…Parrish returns for return duty…McGee. Simpson and Schobel all questionable for Buff

Tennessee @ Kansas City- Chiefs have produced 65 points thru 5 games…now without Larry Johnson for this game…Smith & Charles to split carries…Gonzalez still in fold but not happy…Vanden Bosch & Brown banged up on D-Line for Titans…Fisher & Company possibly looking ahead to Indy visit to Nashville next Monday night?

Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati- Steelers have limited all 5 opponents to 21 points or less…Parker doubtful, Moore likely gets bulk of work…Fitzpatrick starts at QB for Bengals…Benson & Watson share workload with Perry headed to bench…Pitt won both games last year by double digits, outrushing Cincy 261-165

Baltimore @ Miami- ‘Fins only win last year came against Ravens…Pennington 70% completions…6 players with at least 10 receptions…Miami has scored 17 points or less in 3 of 5 games…Baltimore has surpassed 20 point mark just once in 5 games…Joe Flacco 1 TD, 7 INT

Dallas @ St Louis- Rams win last week without offensive touchdown (fumble return TD & 4 FG’s)…have not reached the 20 point mark yet this season…’Boys hurting in secondary with Williams & Newman out…addition of WR Roy Williams likely exacerbates team chemistry problems…Felix Jones OUT, Romo ?

New Orleans @ Carolina- Saints 3-3 and looking up from basement of NFC South…have scored at least 24 points in every game this season…Colston & Shockey probable…defense has played well against notable RB’s…held Gore to 82 yards, Peterson to 32, Raiders combo to 85…but secondary hurting with McKenzie & Glenn nicked up and Porter OUT

Indianapolis @ Green Bay- Colts without Joe Addai…Dawson and Simpson will spell Rhodes…Harris OUT and Bigby ?, Woodson probable for shaky G Bay secondary…DT Harrell set to return…
